I shot this a month or so ago but just got around to editing it now. Surprisingly, adding a lot of really campy effects almost doubled my render time and processing of my computer. Big props to Dan who did the wonderful wonderful writing/voice of this video.
My dad’s flight made it home safely. When all was said and done, despite all the chaos, my grandma was eventually buried, and he was able to get a letter I wrote for her slipped into her casket, so I’m pretty happy about that. Anyway, my dad brought me home one of the most amazing gifts I’ve ever received. It’s my grandfather’s 6X6 TLR camera. This was the only camera that my architect grandfather ever owned and used. I have a lot of work to do on it, like take it apart and clean it and fix the focus gears, but this is amazing to me.
The best footage is always the one where they don’t know that the camera is still recording.
Currently finishing up an edit for work.
Today is my Two-Year Vimeo Birthdayversary (September 29). Two years ago, to the day, I signed up for Vimeo to leave a comment on some friends’ video for UB3. I didn’t upload my first video until a month later, but today is the day I signed up for vimeo, in 2007.
Some irrelevant factoids:
Vimeo has become a huge part of my life in so many different ways. Instead of explaining or dissecting how that has happened, thank you for living it with me in the last 2 years. Thank you for your invaluable friendship and everything we’ve gone through together in the last 2 years. This has been an incredible mile-marker because 2 years ago at this time, I had just started graduate school and had to make a huge transition in my life. Vimeo embodies my entire journey through graduate school thus far.
Thank you again everyone for all your support and for all the smiles and all the love.
