Overheard on the BART

  • Old Man: Wow, no smiles on the train today?
  • : :looks around::
  • Old Man: No one? No one?
  • Young Man: Me!
  • Old Man: What?
  • Young Man: Me over here! I have a smile.
  • Old Man: Good, good, we need more.
  • Young Man: Why aren't you smiling?
  • Old Man: Because I don't have any teeth. You'll have to do the smiling for me.
Leaf Yellow This little guy and I went out for a walk today. As if one lens wasn’t enough, he needs four in order to shoot 3D. What a snobby little guy!

My friends Joanna and Pow flew me out to Alberta in August to photograph their wedding. I stayed an extra week and finally met up with my Vimeo bestie, Jason. We road tripped all over Alberta.

I have a huge back log of summer photos and videos that I am slowly sorting through as time permits.

I always love coming back and watching this short every year.

November is National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month.

Leaf Yellow (via omgerika: …karen and i are going to runaway and go there.  i hope you are all jealous.)
This Thanksgiving break…I may need to get away, and I’ll drag Erika along with me.

Leaf Yellow My friend Michael takes stunningly beautiful photographs. I especially like this self portrait. I like him, he intrigues me.

I’ll never remember that crisp autumn day in 1995 when I first heard Sunny Day Real Estate. I was 10 years old, in Saudi Arabia, sitting on the beige shag carpet of a British boy (whose name I can’t remember) from school with long brown blonde hair, wearing a black, faded, Metallica shirt. He told me that he wanted to share something “new” with me. I didn’t think much of it and thought he was just a weird kid from school.

When The Rising Tide came out in 2000 and I heard this song, I felt like I was 10 years old again sitting in this kid’s bedroom. I realized at that moment, that he had been onto something 5 years prior.

Mom thinks Adapter > Pizza

  • Mom: Yeah, but can you use the Nikon lenses on the Canon camera?
  • Me: Yes I can, because I got an adapter for them.
  • Mom: Yeah, but how much did you end up spending on that adapter?
  • Me: $14
  • Mom: Hmm..
  • Me: Yeah?
  • Mom: That's less than a pizza.
  • Me: What are you talking about? How does that even compare?
  • Mom: Well, you know with the pizza you eat it and enjoy it for a little bit, but I guess this adapter will last longer than the pizza.
  • Me: What are you talking about?
  • Mom: That was my comparison with the pizza.
  • ????? hahaha
